I am not sure, but the reviewer did not mention being asked for a password when installing the pbi package for Firefox they mentioned, so they must have been logged in as root.
Since I am running PCBSD 1.00 on vmware I was curious as to a) why he didn't try installing vmware tools -- I guess because he only wanted it on there for screen shots -- and b) how pcbsd found vmwares network adapter... as this is not natively supported under Ubuntu for example.
Two things struck me -- first that he could have attached the isoimage in vmware if he was running workstation (the inference is that he had it installed) and that if he wanted to evaulate the product before installing it, he could have downloaded the prebuilt vmware image.
I bet he enjoys compiling 9GB of Open Office.

I saw the Discuss button, but all comments are moderated, so it seemed a bit pointless to comment on the Linux forum.
It does make me wonder that maybe the Linux Forum is afraid of flame wars breaking out...

The only thing I have ever had against linux forums are flame wars and zealots.
It's funny how a few have big mouths, while many have better things to discuss. But generally Linux users I've met have been pretty nice.
btw I think your obsessed with that vmware! hahah
