There is a need i guess to quickly upgrade the freebsd core to the quite recent freebsd 6.1 release.

It adresses many problems about which ppl are posting all over this forum.

I would like to see in future PCBSD versions the new kernel releases able to be installed by downloading .pbi patches or whole self-configuring-make-installing .pbi packages.

Also as someone has already mentioned before, I would also like to see new versions released in a DVD format. Other distros often keep themselves to the CD format because many server platforms don't have DVD drives, but this is a desktop system, is it not?

I will download and compile the 6.1 kernel tonight and post my thoughts about it. I also have problems with my usb keyboard. I hope it helps me and all others.

Forget huge update PBI to install after you install your OS untill 6.1 becomes part of the installation, this an't Windows.

6.1-Release should be the base for PC-BSD by the next install disk imho (+ Updates from 1.0 - newer).
