Cd and Dvd

Have just installed 0.7.5 and was very impressed with the installation and new splash screen. A question though:

My system contains a 16 x Dvd R/W unit listed on the Desktop/Computer as Cdrom(acd0) and Cdrom(cd0). Any attempts to use or mount thiese devices result in the following error messages:

cd9660 /dev/cd0 input/output error
or
cd9660 /dev/acd0 input/output error

How do I get these devices to a) play a cd b) burn a cd or dvd using K3B.???

Edited by Ray - perhaps I had better forget at least part of this post. I have just tried another cd and the cd appears to be working perfectly. Will now have to install K3B and try the burning cycle

I believe your trying to mount blank media. Since the emty disc doesn't have a file system, you can't mount it.
