sorry if this is a dumb question,
ive just installed 1.0rc2 and would
like to know how to install the patches
manually.
i see that there is an install script in the scripts
directory ;is it just a matter of running it ?.
i've googled and searched the forums but didn't
see anything about how.
i'm a bit cautious as i'm not that familiar with bsd.
have had some problems with downloading the patches
etc.(partial downloads of the 2nd patch and redownloading)
so would like to just install the 1st patch at this stage

i must say however that i'm really impressed with pc-bsd
i've hardly booted into my mepis partition at all
congratulations to the creator/s

Well you can manually download them from http://www.pcbsd.org/?p=updates1.0rc2

thanks madman,
i've actually downloaded it but it doesn't seem to have
installed itself.
its stored in /PCBSD/temp as a .tbz file, there's also a .pbu
file of the same name there.
there's nothing under /PCBSD/Patches/1.0rc2/ and linux
compatibility is still redhat 7.3.
im sure i d/loaded it as a .pbi but it didn't install automatically
i've found the InstallPatch shell script in /PCBSD/Scripts/ but
i just wanted some feedback before i ran it,
sorry if i didn't make myself clear before

I manually downloaded the patches and am having trouble with installing patch #2.

The patches are in my home directory:

usr/home/lee/patches

Since my PC BSD computer is not connected to the internet, I copied the three PCBSD patches from the updates page to a flash drive. I then copied the files to the patches directory in my home directory.

The first patch installed correctly by me clicking on it.

The second patch fails after replying to the root password prompt with the following error message:

usr/home/lee/.pbistart not found

Thanks!
