Hi,
I tried installing PC BSD 9.0 on my Lenovo Z570 Laptop. It installed fine, yet upon rebooting it doesn't load the OS.
If I keep other OS like say Fedora/Ubuntu, it seems to make an entry in the UEFI, and boots fine. The moment I install another OS trying to dual boot, it behaves as if it cannot find any OS to load.
If I keep Ubuntu/Fedora/CentOS as the only OS, things seem to work fine, but not so for PC BSD. No entry appears in UEFI for PC BSD after I hit F2 just before the OS is going to load.
I checked and found that UEFI needs to have some VFAT Partition but I could be wrong. Linux seems to work around this and creates a UEFI partition, but not PC BSD.
Checking on the Lenovo website, they have some UEFI updates, but those are .exe files for Windows OS.
Does this mean that I have to re install Windows, apply those patches and then try installing PC BSD ?
I got Windows pre loaded on my laptop and my backup disks from which I would load Widows also got corrupted.
I am posting the same question on Lenovo site too, but will be glad if someone here could help.
Gone through some youtube vids on PC BSD and Free BSD and the OS sure does look aweome.
I dont want to load Linux cause everytime I install a update, it seems to break something.
Windows is out of question cause it just slows down over a period of time (I had to do a clean install countless times).
I really want to use PC BSD and Free BSD on my laptop. Kindly help.
