Hi all,

Firstly, thanks for the release of pcbsd, I heard a lot of good things about it and I cant wait to use it. I am not a very experienced user and I have a small problem during the installation. I hope u could help me.

I am using an LG FLATRON LCD monitor (L1750SQ) and no matter what I choose from the 8 available selection in the Welcome Window I get an error from my monitor saying "OUT OF RANGE 33.5kHz / 87Hz".

I have connected another monitor to my pc and the installation was stuck in the image with the yellow flowers. but without frequency problems.

If anyone knows how to solve it pls let me know.

Thnx for your time.

I've had the exact same problem a month ago.
You'll have to kill kdm and X. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Backspace repeatedly. When you get the command line back, edit the X file:

ee /etc/X11/XF86Config

(if I'm not mistaken, depends if it's X.org or XFree86)

Then you change your refresh rate to the monitor's values. It should work then.

hi,

by pressing alt+ctrl+backspace i dont get to the command line.

I have tried the 6th option "Escape to Loader Prompt" but when I type the code you've mentioned a get back "ee is not found".

Can anyone pls tell me in a more detailed way, how to do it ?

thnx in advance.
