Hi All,

The fan on my laptop is always running and the cpu temperature is never below 56C.

I have used the following command to find the temperature:
$ sysctl -a | grep -i temp
net.inet6.ip6.use_tempaddr: 0
net.inet6.ip6.temppltime: 86400
net.inet6.ip6.tempvltime: 604800
net.inet6.ip6.prefer_tempaddr: 0
hw.usb.template: 0
hw.acpi.thermal.tz0.temperature: 56.0C
hw.acpi.thermal.tz1.temperature: 56.0C

My /etc/rc.conf has powerd_enable="YES"
and /boot/loader.conf has hint.acpi_throttle.0.disabled="1"

I have tried disabling and enabling acpi from the boot options. That doesnt help.

please let me know if this is fixable and point me to relevant articles/blogs/guides.

Thanks in advance.

regards,
Adam
