PCBSD install

Sorry to bother you real computer people, I only know Suse. I installed FreeBSD 5.4 but after a week of trying and failing to configure a graphical startup I stumbled onto the PCBSD web site. I downloaded it and I cannot get it to install at all. It starts to install and gets to the PCBDS splash screen that says "Loading ...Wait..." then in a couple of minutes it reboots and the cycle begins again.
What am I doing wrong??
