Hallo, I run PC-BSD 9 RC1 sucessfully on that Laptop (as I have done with PC-BSD 8.2), everything works like a charm except of the internal sd-cardreader. Also using OpenGL apps or screensavers may cause the desktop to crash because of the ATI Mobility X1400 graphic card which is badly supported on BSD/Linux (on linux doesnt crash but runs very slow since flgrx is not avaiable).
I have a question. Because my girlfriend's notebook (Medion), where Ubuntu is installed, sometimes gets very hot I also looked at the temperature of my own notebook (Toshiba). I ran that command:
sysctl -a |grep temper
that was the result:
hw.acpi.thermal.tz0.temperature: 67,0C
hw.acpi.thermal.tz1.temperature: 74,0C
seems to be hot, too or is that ok? I just run FIrefox.
