I trusted BitTorrent not to fall into the piracy vicious circle, and today I have really been surprised to seen that BitTorrent's home page is a Google-like search engine for files (http://www.bittorrent.com/). But you can find even illegal material such as commercial software (http://search.bittorrent.com/search.jsp?query=office+2003).
Can we trust BitTorrent from now on? Why have they done it? :?

yes, would not like to see that torrent is going to be vulnerable in sense software piracy.
torrent could go as a standard (in every browser) for downloading programs, this ones are in case of open source and so on....

This looks ugly. This does NOT feel like bit-torrent. Are they asking to be shut down?
I wonder if someone bought their domain registration from under them (I remember someone bought hotmail.co.uk as a joke to see if it would work and MS wouldn't take them seriously when they tried repeatedly to give it back for free with an appology until it actually cut over).
I just don't see this as right. Surely the guy knows that download tracking like this will get him busted.
I also read that MS is introducing it's own p2p filesharing software. That should be funny : )

Disgusting, you can find cr*cks and ad*lt m*vies too :x
I didn't expect this move. Looks like a notorious *.box.sk web site.
Haven't they learned from Napster, Kazaa and Grokster? :(

Oh comeon! We all knew there were illegal files floating around bittorrent. I download some myself.
Bittorrent's creator didnt intend to do that, hell I doubt Kazaa or any of the other P2P wanted to be shut down because of what uses are doing. The problem is you let it out there and with bittorrent you have no way to filter it. So long as people can make the torrent file and give it to people online it will be possible for illegal wares to be shared.
And if you talking about the design of bittorrent.com.... Its been that way since I got into using bittorrent, oh 6 months ago.

Yes, people can use BitTorrent to download illegal content since dawn, but BitTorrent shouldn't make it available that easy, or at least filter all content that includes bad words, and commercial software and blockbusters.
