That would be cool, especially when you read a long article, and you have to move the mouse every 2 minutes :lol:
check out
man xset
typing as regular user at the prompt
echo xset s off >> ~/.xinitric
should disable the screensaver permanently for the user that your loged in as
you can also turn it on and off by issuing the the following comands
xset s on
to activate
xset s off
to disable
i have not used kde in a while but I think you can configure the behaviour of the screen saver from the kde control panel

I've turned it off from the Control Center, but I meant the default install not having a screen saver :roll:

Why? For security reasons I leave screensaver with password protection working.

charles, you have to invent a pc compatible heat detector to place in front of your display ;)
That, or change the time it takes for the screensaver to start. I dont think we should drop it... :D

I find it annoying and disableing it is one of the first things I do.
