Hello all.
Quick question: is there a way to get ATI catalyst and the latest linux driver on to BSD? I poked around for an hour and couldn't find a good answer anywhere.
I have a HD 5850 card, can't recall the shorthand code for it, cayman or cyprus .. something. I was using Chakra Project prior to this (it's a fork of Archlinux) and /gears was 2200ish with great framerates in wow / eve. Here the radeonhd display didn't work for me (screen never came back from black), so I'm using the ati-3d-whathaveyou display, and /gears is now 70. Sadface.
I read a good deal of the handbook and realize the focus for the moment is on nvid cards, but was hoping against hope I suppose.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
