Just put the above card in my set up. Running PCBSD 8.2 recently installed and
worked OK with previous card.
Can boot with Windows XP and Ubuntu but PCBSD fails with th following message:-
WARNING unable to set.dev.pcm.0.rec.vchans=4
X server for display :0 can not be started.
X server died during set up.

I don't know what this means. Is the card not suitable for PCBSD?
Should I try to reinstall PCBSD with the Asus card in place?
Should I use it elsewhere and put the original card back?

Thank you

ps I've looked for a solution on this site but apart from pages detailing command line entries to fix hardware problems I can't see a fix.
