hi i have been experiencing some troubles related to sound with both FreeBSD and PCBSD, plugging in a headphone/earphone or whatever sound device in my line out wasn't working, neither isn't the speaker muted properly.
If you are experiencing this, try running this fix, this should make it work.
[it just finds the proper nid for your line out and mic and sets the proper device hints.].
[posting since i spent quite some time without no real solution, don't want someone to go through the same thing just for a headset!].

just run as root, shud work fine. (requires reboot)
