No sound in my Presario V3018 laptop

After reformatting, I am not having sound in my Presario V3018 laptop. Could you guide me as to which pack I should download and from where?

Hi,
the first thing you should do is:


pciconf -lv


Post the output of this command and you will be helped. Otherwise if you think you could solve your problem by yourself you should see if the audio device is listed as

none0@pci ....

Subsequently you should search for the driver that fits your audio device.
