Hi to everyone

First of all, sorry for my english.

After editing the /etc/fstab archive to add a few lines to mount a FAT32 partition, my pcbsd 7.1.1 doesnt boot anymore :( :cry: :( .

The partition table of my 160 gb hdd is as it follows:

sda1 = 50gb = ntfs (windows xp)
sda2 = 20gb = ufs2 (pcbsd 7.1.1)
sda3 = 15gb = ext4 (ubuntu 9.04)
sda4 = extended
sda5 = 15gb = ext4 (ubuntu 9.04 home)
sda6 = 40gb = fat32 (shared documents among the 3 OS)
sda7 = 3gb = linux swap

This is the guide I followed to edit the fstsab archive:
http://faqs.pcbsd.org/index.php?action=artikel&cat=14&id=354&artlang=en

Now i cant boot to pcbsd even in safe mode, single user mode etc...
I can mount my pcbsd partition from ubuntu, but as a read only partition :? , so I cant do anything with it :cry: .

I would like to know which options do I have to repair my pcbsd boot... :?: If there is something that I could do from the pcbsd CDs (from the repair/update option) :?: ...or if theres is any kind of freeBSD live-CD that I could use to mount my pcbsd partition and write in it... :roll: or if I can get to any command line or something to repair the fstab from it...

I will be very gratefull for any help...
Thanks

boot off any suitable BSD install disk*, get to a shell, mount your root file system, and edit the fstab file.

You should also be able to inform the system enough information to 'manually' tell it where to boot from using the mount root prompt that comes up; and access things that way.

*Even if you have to run the PC-BSD installer, you can right click the wall paper and bring up an XTerm. PC-BSDs disk may not offer a rescue console anymore but FreeBSDs install disk #1 does!
