Any graphics card that you would recommend for Galileo?

I like to run the 64-bit version of the OS because of 4GB+ of RAM... I heard that AMD/ATi is releasing documentation for their hardware a year ago, so what's the situation like for PC/FreeBSD? Are there any graphics card that would have basic 3D support out of the box even on a 64-bit system?

Say if you want to build a new computer, that have basic Compiz Fusion support, what card would you choose?

I am not certain, but in the Linux world, nVidia's driver support seems to be much better than ATI's. So while I cannot really recommend any particular card - I myself have only older computers and therefore old(er) graphics cards - I believe you should be ok with any new nVidia card.

Ah that's kind of surprising, many times I have heard open source developers complaining that nVidia not releasing any specification but when ATi did no one cares. Seems like hypocrisy to me...

nVidia may not be releasing open source code, but the Linux drivers they publish seem to be better than the ones ATI is creating. At least that's my impression from reading the Ubuntu forums after the recent upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 which created some hardship for owners of certain ATI cards because the official ATI-driver doesn't support them anymore, and the open-source driver doesn't support them very well either. Recent cards cards are being supported, but a number of people said that the quality of the ATI-driver was below that of the nVidia driver.
