Hi,
I'm a BSD Newbie.
I installed pc-bsd 7.1 everything worked perfectly but not my crappy soundcard:
sb x-fi xtreme music.
so I downloaded the newest OSS with beta support for this card.
I installed it as described in the manual using terminal and su:
1. Log on as root
2. pkg_add oss-freebsd-v4.0-123-i386.tbz
3. You will have to reboot the system if
OSS replaced any driver previously
detected.
4. To test that the audio package is
correctly installed type: osstest and you
should hear the test sounds on the front
left, right and both speakers.
now sound worked perfectly. but only until the next reboot of my system, pc-bsd tells me oss device not working again. when i reinstall OSS with the -f options its working again. but only till next reboot. maybe someone can help.
:)
greetings pragma
edit: maybe i need to uninstall the PC-BSD OSS version first...but i dont know howto do that ;)
