Hello, everyone :)
I've just installed 7.0.1 on my good old nx6110 and I've got couple of problems concerning ACPI support:
1. I want to make the laptop suspend to RAM when lid is closed. For this I run:
sysctl hw.acpi.lid_switch_state=S3
After that it suspends successfully, but after wake up touchpad is not working.
2. In "Services Manager" "acpi notebook module" status is "Unknown". Do I have to worry about that? BTW, cpufreq seems to work, but not perfectly: right now CPU load is less than 10%, but laptop fan is working hard.
3. In KDE menu "Suspend-to-RAM" and "Suspend-to-Disk" options are absent (ACPI is not fine, I guess :)). What do I need to turn on to bring them there?

dmesg | grep acpi gives me the following:
acpi0: <HP 099C> on motherboard

P.S. Please note that I'm a newbie to *nix and BSD in particular, so I'd prefer solutions that do not involve "rebuild'em all" scenarios :) Thank you in advance.

I would try posting on daemonforums.org or one of the mailing lists.

I have the exact same problem on an IBM T42. Any suggestions yet?
